Nearly 30 Selene 57s have been delivered to date. Owner feedback has always been a significant driver in Howard Chen's approach to design.
Now, an entirely new mold has been built to include advances in hull design, features that previously options, the cruiser stern, and
plenty of room in the engine room.
The new mold takes advantage of the latest production technology. Selene 57s will now be built at Jet Tern's new state-of-the-art
shipyard in Zhuhai, Canton, China where her sister Selene 59, 62, and 66s are also built.
Three orders have already been taken for the 57DH and production is under way. Currently, an order placed in the Summer of 2007 could be
fulfilled including shipping and commissioning stateside by late 2009. Fully equipped with many many options including stabilizers,
large inverter, hydraulic davit, icemaker, etc., the Selene 57DH will price out in the ballpark of around $1.325 M.

It never fails that some of the visitors we meet at a TrawlerFest, a boat show, or even via our website fall in love with the grace,
beauty, design, features, and quality of the Selene, but want better performance than a traditional displacement trawler.
Listening to the market is a hallmark of Jet Tern's Howard Chen, and this time the response is stunning.
The Selene 50 Ocean Express is an entirely new offering. It is the marriage of a proven high performance hull licensed by Jet Tern, and
the proven layout and accommodations of the Selene 48.
Cruising speeds in the 15knot range and a top of 20 distinguish the new Ocean Express from her sister ships. So, too, does an amazing
list of standard features that are usually options.
Some of the standard equipment includes Twin Cummins QSL9.0 405hp engines, Bow Thruster, Air Conditioning, Inverter, Fire Boy, Hydraulic
Davit, FRP Hardtop integral with the radar arch, spiral stairs from cockpit to boat deck, Kahlenberg horn, trash compactor, icemaker,
washer/dryer, Sub-Zero galley refrigerator, microwave, and many more.
The standard twin screws are each protected by its own molded skeg and shoe. Draft is about 5' making the Selene Ocean Express ideal for
go anywhere cruising.
Two staterooms, ample pilothouse, a large cockpit, lazarette, and gracious flybridge are all in the tradition of Selene Pilothouse
trawlers.
Selene Annapolis will be pleased to help you design the details of a Selene Ocean Express that is customized to your own particular
needs. Orders being taken can be delivered in about 18 months. The base price delivered and commissioned on the East Coast is in the
ballpark of $1.15M for the first four orders placed with Selene Annapolis.
If the Selene 50 meets your requirements, contact us to place a reservation and begin a design process that will produce all the details
you will need to make a formal commitment.

An innovative new hull modification is now standard on Selene 36, 40, 48, 53, and 57DH. It has many benefits to the Selene owner.
Instead of squaring off the hull where the bottom and transom join, the cruiser stern extends fully under the integral swim platform and
is gently rounded both across the entire beam as well as where the sides and stern join. The benefits are many:
- Passage through the water is more efficient as the tendancy for displaced water to tumble back is reduced
- In a following sea, forces are more efficiently dissipated for better handling
- Bouyancy is increased permitting heavier loading of equipment and such in the lazarette
- Storage is increased - the entire area beneath the swim platform is easily accessable from within the lazarette
- The LWL is increased providing an increment of speed
These construction photos are of the first Selene 53 and the third Selene 48 with the cruiser stern. The Selene 48 will be on display at
both the Mystic, CT TrawlerFest and the Annapolis Boat Show

In response to many customers and prospective customers, Team Selene Annapolis worked with Howard Chen, President of Jet Tern Marine, to develop a new
choice for owners of the very popular Selene 53 Ocean Trawler. On its twin-engine version, the draft may be reduced by a full 9”, from 5’9” to 5’0”.
This significant option will enable cruisers to probe waters whose depth had heretofore been a barrier. Entire areas, particularly on the East Coast of
the US, the Bahamas, Great Lakes, and some Caribbean waters will become accessible for the first time to cruisers of the Selene 53 Shoal Draft.
Even with a shortened keel, the bottom of the wheels are still 4” above the bottom of that sturdy keel providing excellent protection in a grounding.
There will be no sacrifice of stability. Even though the keel is shortened, the A/B ration will not be materially effected as twin rudders will provide
additional area below the waterline. The weight of the twin engine configuration, considering the additional weight of twin transmissions, shafts, and
wheels, will also lower the center of gravity.
The optional Selene Shoal Draft design is now available for the Selene 53/55 and 59.

Selene 4021, Lunar Lady, was delivered to Pat and Howard Brooks of Annapolis, MD.
(Click on photos below to enlarge)
The Brooks are lifelong sailors who chanced to charter a Selene 36 in the San Juan Islands last summer and got hooked on the trawler life. They relocated
Lunar Lady from Washburn's Boat Yard in Solomons, MD where she was commissioned to their home on Ridout Creek where Harold is doing his own
commissioning of electronics and other of their favorite equipment, furnishings, and fixtures.
The Brooks selected the Raymarine E-Series electronics throughout. Their knowledge and experience has produced an exceptionally professional installation
- even to the integration of their HDTV to the nav display!
