Selene 48

The Selene 48 is a serious passagemaker, and a superlative coastwise and inland cruiser. With multiple layout options including either midships or forward master stateroom, and galley port starboard, or centered, her accommodations can align with her owners’ cruising and liveaboard lifestyle.

In early April, 2006, an entirely new mold was completed that significantly enhances the proven design of the Selene 48.

The new Selene 48 increases Length On Deck by a full foot, from 47'2" to 48'2" and LOA from 51'10" to 53'2". As a result, the new yacht model increased its useful length by a foot which translates into an additional 8" in the engine room plus 4" in the cockpit. On the main deck, an additional 8" is found in the salon. The real benefit is a full 12" of additional headroom in the engine room - a full 5'!. This extra height allows for expansion of the fuel tanks - a total of 200 more gallons! Yet, the tanks are a bit narrower yielding even more space in the engine room. All this is done without increasing the draft. The standard engine on the 48DH is now a Cummins QSL 9.0 330 hp, up from the QSB 5.9 330. She's a true passagemaker.

The delivered and commissioned base price of a new Selene 48 is in the range of $787,000. Most owners select options both from the factory (such as air conditioning, inverter, spurs, davit, etc.) and in the aftermarket during commissioning (such as electronics, lines and ground tackle, dink, etc.) that can add another 10% - 15% to the total cost.
