Since its introduction in 2002, the Selene 54 has become the most popular model in the Selene range, with over 60 commissioned and another 35 under construction. It's easy to see why, with a powerful combination of liveaboard comfort and excellent long range cruising in safety for a couple and their guests.
From the same mold, the Selene 50 and Selene 56 accommodate cockpits larger and smaller to meet the owner's particular needs. They all offer the same warm, spacious, and welcoming interior layouts, and the same accommodating bridge, engine room, and foredeck.
With no less than eight different living areas to choose from, including three staterooms (two with ensuite bathrooms), a galley that's integral with the saloon, and a spacious flybridge that will be the envy of everyone on the dock, the Selene 53 is a comfortable home afloat. Yet it can still be handled easily and safely by a couple, thanks to the secure walk-around decks and Portuguese bridge, two steering stations, and bow and (optional) stern thruster.
But, like all Selene Ocean Trawlers, at its heart, the Selene 54 is a serious long range cruiser. The hull form of the Selene 53 has a hard chine in the aft sections to reduce roll, but this merges into the traditional displacement boat's round bilges by the mid sections, giving the Selene 54 its impressive range of 2,000+nm and an economical cruise speed of 10kts.
After being on board a Selene 54, customers often wonder how so much is packed into a 53' boat. Well, for starters, it's nearly 60’ overall with close to a 17’ beam. The delivered and commissioned base price of a new Selene 54 is in the range of $958,950. Most owners select options both from the factory (such as air conditioning, inverter, spurs, stabilizers, davit, etc.) and in the aftermarket during commissioning (such as electronics, lines and ground tackle, dink, etc.) that can add another 10% - 15% to the total cost.
